Find out who the Timeform experts are betting on at Doncaster on Friday and which horses stand out with ratings and tickets.

Best bets from Timeform experts

Graeme North: Big Mojo – 3pm Doncaster

Market leader Magnum Force was undoubtedly the eye-catcher in the Listed Julia Graves Stakes at York, finding his way in the clog before a strong finish, but is this form quite as good as that shown by Asterius or Asterius to date. Big Mojoboth of which are model winners, I’m not at all sure. Having already got the better of Asterius once in the Molecomb at Goodwood, Big Mojo will take him to confirm this form and get back to winning ways. Big Mojo has run once since, finishing fourth in the Gimcrack when he traveled strongly for a long distance but eventually failed to get home, and the horse who finished in front of him that day, Symbol Of Strength, has already come out to win the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes. A return to five furlongs looks like the right move for Big Mojo, and it will take a significantly better performance from one of his rivals to beat him.

Tony McFadden: Cabrera – 16:10 Doncaster

Cabrera is a well-bred and progressive mare who looks capable of increasing her Timeform rating again after shaping so promisingly on her handicap debut at Newmarket last month. He had to settle for second place at the time, but when he drew 11 lengths from third, he showed that he has started off the pace from a slight mark. He’s gained 4lbs for this effort, but he still appeals as a very handicapped filly, especially since he’s still open to progress.

Kieran Clark: Artagnan – 17:20 Doncaster

The biggest eye-catcher of the Ebor festival was probably Artagnan and he looks to be beaten smaller in the breed. Low stakes were very popular throughout the week and he went down fighting from 16th place, shaping very well for the conditions. Karl Burke’s two-year-olds remain among the winners and Artagnan deserves to be favourite.

Cabrera – 16:10 Doncaster

Cabrera was unable to reward good support on her handicap debut over a mile and three-quarters at Newmarket last month, but she shaped like a well-groomed filly and looked simply unlucky to bump any further off her mark.

Cabrera was unable to fend off Irish rider Sixandahalf, but he did not go down without a fight and held the job well to pull 11 lengths from third.

He still looks ahead of the handicapper despite a 4lb weight gain and the way he moved during the race suggests he has enough speed to prove at least as effective at a mile and a half (he won the Novice at this track and distance in his previous start). . Cabrera is 3 pounds atop Timeform’s weight-adjusted rankings and looks beatable.

Tickets: Horse In Focus, Trainer Form

The latter was not at his best when he was only fifth at Goodwood in his penultimate start, as the race did not provide a sufficient test of endurance, but he returned to winning ways when he stepped up at Newmarket last month.

Even later, he was not in ideal position running back at a flat gallop, but he enjoyed the longer distance of a mile and three-quarters and reached the shade comfortably by a length and a quarter.

He is a progressive three-year-old and is still being treated competitively after gaining 4lb, especially as he remains unexposed as a stayer. Andrew Balding’s continued good form is also in his favour.
